Fundraising in memory of Chris Bond, 04/02/53 - 16/01/25
From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU to everyone who has donated or sent kind words so far. We miss him.
~ Louis and Jac
Chris (Dad) was diagnosed with COPD in 2018, and told that it would eventually be terminal. In 2019, he and I bought, restored and rebuilt his 1960s Coronet Major lathe, along with a workshop to house it. Over the next 5 and a half years, his daily work on the lathe became his lifeblood, best medicine, and swansong. Creativity trodden out for decades finally blossomed in a rush of urgency. Vessels bloomed in his beautiful hands. I was blessed to enable his final happiness, even as he fought for each breath.
Dad let go, and went where I couldn’t follow, just after midnight on January 16th 2025.
I shared his final breaths.
Since Dad left such a tremendous body of work, we have been selling it in order to fundraise for
Asthma + Lung UK: one of the only national charities fighting for stronger and kinder treatment pathways for those afflicted by this cruel disease.
You can support Chris’ legacy by donating using the form below, or by purchasing some of his work using the online shop. As during his life, I will be travelling to various craft shows around Surrey and Sussex throughout the year. Keep an eye on the (admittedly sparse) Instagram for updates.
You can find a full breakdown of our fundraising so far on the Fundraising page.
